The Role

To inspire, lead and motivate the team to drive efficiency and professionalism promoting the sustainability of a great operating environment.

To ensure all areas of responsibility are delivered in an accurate, efficient, timely and safe manner providing internal and external customers with a first class service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all inbound and outbound scheduled deliveries are accurately tipped, checked, labelled, keyed and located in a safe and timely manner
  • Operational management of at least two areas across all sites
  • Ensure the safe and secure storage, rotation and movement of all RAW materials and finished goods
  • Ensure packaging, RAW material waste and recycling processes targets met
  • Efficient and effective management of all loose equipment and returnable assets including trays, bins, ALPAL’s and pallets
  • Manage the material handling equipment fleet, whilst ensuring numbers and type are aligned to operational requirements
  • Ensure all operators on material handling equipment are operating in accordance with UK licensing laws
  • Report damages, breakdowns and hazards reported to the Warehouse Manager
  • Drive continual improvements within all warehouse operations, using Lean methodologies and techniques in problem solving
  • Ensure team delivery of GMP standards to business and KPI expectation
  • Manage the team resource levels to meet business needs whilst delivering or exceeding budget targets
  • Develop a multi skilled workforce who can operate in multiple areas
  • Ensure all Team Leaders and Operators are effectively trained, managed and motivated to deliver results
  • Undertake appraisals and one to one meetings with the team on a regular basis promoting the use of the Barfoots Leadership Framework
  • To ensure Health and Safety standards are managed, incidents and hazards are recorded and reported with effective RCA if required

Shift Pattern

4 Days on, 4 Days off:  06:00 – 18:00 hrs

Job Summary

We want to hear from experienced and dedicated individuals who can demonstrate leadership qualities within a production environment. A dynamic, hands on team player who can not only lead from the front, but also contribute individually.

As a key member of the Production Team, you will be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating the production activities associated with our Fresh Food products. You will be a dedicated and experienced contributor, able to operate effectively in this fast paced working environment. Ensuring efficient and effective production at all times whilst also maintaining and promoting our extremely high standards in both Quality and Health & Safety.

The Role

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • This position is responsible for support and maintenance of servers, networks and all IT infrastructure hardware and software reporting directly to the IT Manager
  • Undertaking IT projects as instructed by the IT Manager
  • Providing assistance, support and guidance to colleagues in the IT team
  • Follow standard ITSM processes of Asset Management, Change Management, Incident Management, Request Management, Problem Management and Project Management
  • Participate as part of a team related to trouble-shooting and resolution of larger IT System issues. May also participate in efforts related to Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management.
  • Identify opportunities for process and technology improvement
  • To support and monitor existing infrastructure; perform preventative maintenance work; backup and perform other regular support activities to ensure effectiveness and to provide cover on such tasks when required.
  • Respond to 1st and 2nd Line Help Desk calls and planned work requests. To manage such items through to resolution.
  • To maintain appropriate records of time spent, actions taken and item status to facilitate management, future problem resolution and to keep users informed of progress.
  • To keep users up to date with progress and to liaise with colleagues and partners in an appropriate manner. To liaise with users regarding escalated issues and to agree appropriate courses of action and priorities.
  • To liaise with external suppliers and support agencies for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant hardware and software.
  • To ensure that all work and changes are performed in such a way as to minimise all disruption to existing business use.
  • To assist in keeping track of the Barfoots IT assets and ensure that the infrastructure and data is kept secure at all times.
  • To ensure that technology is used, managed and supported in accordance with Barfoots standards, policies and procedures.
  • Effectively co-ordinate work or assistance provided by 3rd parties
  • Administering network security and installing and implementing security programs
  • Network monitoring/improvements – on premises and cloud deployment.
  • Maintaining existing software and hardware and upgrading any that have become obsolete
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain the company’s physical and cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintaining system documentation

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 year experience working in a network / infrastructure support role
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in implementing and supporting IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and security
  • General commercial and operational awareness of impact of business / user requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, business management and customer-service skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, always striving to exceed expectations and to improve services to meet customer and business needs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical terminology to people with limited or no technical understanding
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of planning and prioritising workload
  • Proactive and solutions driven
  • Microsoft certifications and Cisco certifications desirable but not essential

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximum equipment uptime and availability
  • Contribute to the effective and efficient use of equipment, by ensuring a reduction in response and completion times, and maintaining a right first time approach
  • Innovation/Improvement suggestions and projects regularly reviewed, analysed and implemented where appropriate
  • Promote and deploy a flexible approach to new equipment, systems and ways of working. This will involve integration with operations to fulfil the goals of LEAN and continuous improvement
  • Ensure spare part stocks are kept at appropriate levels to maintain plant and equipment.
  • Ensure daily and weekly checks on production equipment and equipment pumps, valves and fitting.
  • Assist in reducing departmental and company costs
  • Assist the engineering manager in managing the use of contractors across site for both Sefter Farm and Leythorne.
  • Continual improvement in Health & Safety Audit results
  • To communicate all relevant information and develop strong working relationships with all team members, to lead by example and have a significant and visible presence

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Time served mechanical/electrical engineer with a minimum 3 years post qualification industry experience
  • Prior team management experience
  • Be able to think, communicate and present information effectively
  • Ability to prioritise workload and use own initiative in a fast paced production environment
  • Capable of carrying out mechanical and electrical tasks
  • Carry out effective RCAs
  • Identify, plan and implement effective PPMs

Desirable Skills/Experience:

The Role

We now have an exciting NEW opportunity to join our Logistics department at the first point of contact for the business. As a Gatehouse Controller you will be responsible for monitoring and organising all vehicle movements coming into and out of the site.

The Gatehouse controller will operate the site booking in system, manage vehicle movements and work with internal departments around the business to support the safe movement of traffic. Be a positive first point of contact for staff, contractors, drivers and visitors ushering them to the appropriate locations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing on-site traffic and coordinating vehicle movements to designated locations.
  • Operating the ERP system relevant to department movements.
  • To maintain the accurate recording and reporting of waste/recycling volumes and costs.
  • To demonstrate effective internal communication of vehicle flows and status once on site.
  • To maintain and record department KPI data according to team objectives.
  • Booking System vendor management & reporting.
  • The timely escalation of variances to agreed schedules to internal/external stakeholders.
  • To trigger discrepancy investigations related to received verses expected variances.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven experience in transport, logistics and operations administration
  • Able to effectively prioritise workload
  • Experience of accurate recordkeeping, analysing and resolving discrepancies in a busy office environment.

Shift Pattern:

The working pattern for this role will be working 4 Days On and 4 Days Off from 07:00 to 19:00
