The Role

A great opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor/Business Partner to join our busy HR Team.

Reporting directly to the Head of HR, you will be passionate about providing a first class service at all times and be responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.

Working as part of a proactive, innovative and responsive HR Team, the successful candidate will be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and work comfortably to tight deadlines. By building and maintaining effective business partner relationships, you will help deliver a comprehensive, consistent and dedicated HR service to key areas of the business.

You will act as the first point of contact for all management queries, providing a robust HR service to help support, develop and enhance business performance. Providing advice on a wide range of HR issues and ensuring adherence to company policies and employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Form and maintain effective working relationships with Business Partners to ensure the smooth running of the HR function, providing guidance and advice on the full range of HR activities in order to ensure a fair and consistent approach; providing training on how to understand and implement policies and procedures where necessary.
  • Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels, providing advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of the Companies policies, best practice and employment legislation.
  • Work closely with Recruitment Team, leading and coaching Business Partners on appropriate recruitment strategies to identify, attract and retain talent
  • Work closely with Business Partners and the Learning & Development team to identify and plan learning and development required to improve performance, capability and develop talent.
  • Record and analyse data within the relevant Business Partner units to discuss during monthly / weekly meetings with Business Partners as required
  • Advise Business Partners on delivery of grievance, disciplinary and capability investigations and hearings.
  • Administer new starter and leaver processes within Business Partner relationship, including conducting exit interviews where required.
  • Ensure policies are adhered to within Business Partnerships with managing maternity and paternity leave.
  • Updating and maintaining the HR Information System records (Snowdrops KCS) assisting with the preparation of regular management information
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices; keeping up to date with legal developments and proposed changes.
  • To assist and / or lead on HR projects and development programmes as designated by the Head of HR
  • Assist with payroll administration and maintenance of employee records

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
  • Minimum Level 5 CIPD Qualification.
  • Fully conversant and up-to-date with all aspects of employment law and HR best practice
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the internet
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven generalist experience
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Ability to deal with challenging individuals

The Role

Due to our ongoing growth and development, we have an exciting opportunity for a QA Officer (Trainee) to join our busy team.

Reporting to the Factory Technical Supervisor, you will ensure assessment of all raw material arriving across Barfoots sites, against agreed standards before use. You will contribute to the efficiency of the packing operation by effectively communicating quality issues (delivered, processed and packed) across the business. Also ensuring that the quality of packed product meets agreed customer specifications and that Barfoots Quality Management System (QMS), HACCP and Customer Code of Practice are operating effectively.

Full promotion to QA officer can be achieved on completion of successful, 6 months probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and follow all quality standards and systems instigated by Management and detailed in Company Quality Manual and Barfoots Produce Manager / Greenlight
  • Check quality and temperature of all inbound raw material products in a timely manner
  • Ensure that timely and accurate feedback is provided to our suppliers, production and procurement teams regarding product quality
  • Ensure that Food Safety standards are not compromised
  • Adhere strictly to Barfoot’s and Customer specifications. Ensure that any deviation from specification is actioned with Factory Technical and Technical Account Managers consent
  • Understand and implement ‘On Hold’ procedure if and where necessary
  • To enforce the non – conforming product procedure and ensure rejected or unacceptable product is clearly identified
  • Liaise and influence production and procurement teams concerning suitability and priority use of raw material to ensure specification is not compromised, whilst trying to optimise the product / yield
  • Undertake routine instrument checks (probes, scales) and daily Pack house positive release system at the frequency set by QA Manager or Factory Technical Manager
  • To act as a role model for good practice of company hygiene requirements
  • Undertake Daily Site and Internal Audits (including Glass and Plastic and GMP) when required
  • Follow up on corrective actions and verify that those have been completed satisfactorily
  • Complete traceability in response to customer complaints / rejections and when requested by other departments
  • Retain shelf life samples for each product and monitor as per shelf life procedure
  • Assist in implementation, drive and participation of Product Daily Quality Assessment (Taste Panel) by QA Department
  • Ensure all Micro and Pesticide samples are collected in timely manner, according to company procedures
  • Participate in customer and supplier visits when necessary
  • Maintain continuity between the shifts by communicating on-going issues to the QA team
  • Cover all positions within QA team roles in absence or when required
  • Other reasonable tasks requested by Factory Technical Supervisor, QA Manager or Factory Technical Manager or set in daily task documents.
