The Role

Due to an exciting extended growth and demand period, we are keen to invite applications from enthusiastic and reliable individuals, capable of working effectively and efficiently in a busy, team driven environment. Working across various production departments, you will carry out a variety of production related duties that could include:

  • Operation and understanding of production machinery
  • Short Interval Control – ensuring that the plan is met within the guidelines of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Technical Compliance
  • Machine changeover protocol for product changes.
  • Operating equipment to achieve the highest efficiencies possible.
  • Maintain accurate production records
  • Report/discuss safety hazards with the Supervisors for remedial action.
  • Ensuring all cleaning procedures are carried out correctly and adhered to

Reporting directly to the Team Leaders, you will be a pivotal team member, working to ensure that our customer standards are maintained at all times, along with a safe clean, working environment. You will be required to follow set procedures and work at a fast pace, so good communication skills are essential in order to work within the team

Previous experience of Food production or FMCG/manufacturing environment would be an advantage.

This is a permanent opportunity, with a fixed 12 hour day shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Production Team Leader to join us at our Leythorne Nursery site near Chichester.

Job Summary

We want to hear from experienced and dedicated individuals who can demonstrate leadership qualities within a production environment. A dynamic, hands on team player who can not only lead from the front, but also contribute individually.

As a key member of the Production Team, you will be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating the production activities associated with our Fresh Food products. You will be a dedicated and experienced contributor, able to operate effectively in this fast paced working environment. Ensuring efficient and effective production at all times whilst also maintaining and promoting our extremely high standards in both Quality and Health & Safety.

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will also have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to an ever-changing dynamic workplace. Assisting the Team Manager with the delivery of performance related KPI’s and developing a total quality culture that upholds the company values.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • English Advanced level 1 (must be achieved by end of probation period)
  • Experience of working within a target orientated environment
  • Experience of working within an FMCG / Fresh Food environment
  • Fantastic people skills
  • Proactive problem solving abilities
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring Health and Safety standards are adhered to whilst complying with the Company Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Working in an efficient and clean manner
  • Ensuring that all products meet necessary quality standards
  • Completing due diligence paperwork
  • Achieving relevant KPI’s relating to OEE (overall equipment efficiency)
  • Set up, run and adjust machinery.
  • Conducting basic, pre-planned maintenance techniques in line with machine requirements

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Self-starters with a ‘can do’ approach
  • Reliable
  • Methodical and thorough
  • Team player
  • Level 3 English (ESOL) – essential
  • Previous experience operating in a food manufacturing facility – desirable
